Kale or kale stew is a stewed potato made from kale. The dish is eaten in the Netherlands, large parts of northern Germany and parts of Scandinavia.
Kale is often said that the taste is only good when a night frost has gone over the field because the cold causes the plant to add extra sugars. The harvest often begins only after the first night frost, and the cabbage can remain on the field all winter if desired.
